The 19-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who ranked 10th in MLS’s 22 Under 22 list, joins the Dutch giants after an impressive three-year stint with the Revolution, where he recorded five goals and four assists in 57 appearances across all competitions.
Bajraktarević’s transfer continues PSV’s successful recruitment strategy from MLS, following the breakthrough success of FC Dallas academy product Ricardo Pepi, who currently leads the club’s scoring charts.
The move was facilitated by PSV’s sporting director, Earnie Stewart, who brings significant MLS experience from his time with the Philadelphia Union.
“This move represents an excellent opportunity for Esmir to develop in one of Europe’s premier leagues,” said Revolution sporting director Curt Onalfo. “His rapid progression through our professional pathway demonstrates the strength of our development system.”
The talented winger, who made his USMNT debut in January 2024 before switching allegiance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, becomes the latest Revolution player to secure a high-profile European transfer.
He follows in the footsteps of goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic (Chelsea) and Matt Turner (Arsenal), as well as forwards Tajon Buchanan (Club Brugge) and Adam Buksa (Lens).
The Revolution, who struggled offensively last season with a league-low 37 goals and missed the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, have already begun reinforcing their squad.
Recent acquisitions include striker Leo Campana from Inter Miami, midfielder Jackson Yueill through free agency, and defenders Mamadou Fofana and Brayan Ceballos from Amiens SC and Fortaleza, respectively.
