La Masia graduate Jorge Alastuey joins Austin FC II

Austin FC II has strengthened its midfield by signing Spanish youth prospect Jorge Alastuey to a multi-year deal through 2026, the club reports.

The 21-year-old midfielder who developed at La Masia comes with a glorious European football pedigree.

His contract has a club option for the 2027 MLS NEXT Pro season as proof of Austin’s long-term commitment to his Spanish talent.

The Zaragoza native brings quite an array of experiences from many European clubs. He started with Real Zaragoza’s youth setup and, in 2016, earned the much coveted place in Barcelona’s La Masia.

In his time in the youth ranks of Barcelona, Alastuey played at various age levels while also getting some experience in the UEFA Youth League.

His attacking strength was also shown later on at Napoli’s U-19 side, where he was able to score three goals and assist in five with 29 games played under his belt (transfermarkt).

The youngster enjoyed a successful career with Teruel in the Spanish third division where his career started to glow up.

He played in 27 matches in his first professional football season before briefly appearing for Polish side LKS Lodz. In Łódź, Alastuey split time between the first and second teams, playing in five games for each team between August 2024 and January 2025.

Well,  it seems Austine FC II is committed to developing global talent for their MLS NEXT Pro team, and they will continue to deliver on that promise as they develop for the future the future.
