Martin Odegaard has been shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year award for the second season in a row.

The Arsenal captain, who had a standout season, is now looking to secure this prestigious honor at the PFA Awards in Manchester.

With 11 goals and 11 assists in 48 matches, Odegaard’s creativity was unmatched, making him a strong contender.

Odegaard’s performance last season was extraordinary. He created 88 chances from open play, more than any other player in the Premier League.

His ability to influence games is reflected in the 401 kilometers he covered in 35 league appearances.

His efforts didn’t go unnoticed, earning him a place among top footballers like Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.

Bukayo Saka is also in the spotlight, as he has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Saka, who won the award last year, is aiming to retain his title after a record-breaking season.

With 20 goals and 14 assists, Saka led Arsenal’s scoring charts and became the youngest player since 1987 to reach 50 goals and 50 assists.

Fierce competition

Both Odegaard and Saka face stiff competition. Odegaard is up against the likes of Erling Haaland, who won last season’s award, while Saka will battle with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo.

Despite the challenges, their performances last season make them strong candidates.

The PFA Awards ceremony on August 20 will reveal if Odegaard and Saka can bring home the accolades.

All the best to our boys.
