The LA Galaxy has bolstered its midfield by signing Elijah Wynder, the 2024 USL Championship Young Player of the Year.
The club announced Wynder has joined the club on a three-year contract through 2027, with an option for 2028.
Wynder, 21, arrives from Louisville City FC, where he developed into one of the USL Championship’s standout players.
Across five seasons with Louisville, the midfielder made 84 appearances, recording 11 goals and three assists.
His 2024 campaign was particularly impressive, as he notched six goals and two assists in 33 games, earning USL Championship All-League Second Team honours.
“Elijah has proven himself as one of the most talented players in the USL Championship despite his young age,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz. “We’re excited to see his athleticism and technical ability strengthen our midfield.”

His journey
Wynder’s journey began in Oldham County, Kentucky, where he became the first player to sign professionally with Louisville City FC from their academy in 2020.
Though a season-ending injury in 2021 disrupted his progress, Wynder made a remarkable comeback, winning the 2022 USL Championship Comeback Player of the Year award.
In 2022, he scored a memorable game-winning goal in the Eastern Conference Final, securing Louisville’s fourth conference title. By 2024, Wynder had become a consistent performer, helping his team win the USL Championship Players’ Shield.
The 6-foot-1 midfielder brings a unique mix of competitiveness and creativity to the Galaxy. His signing is part of the club’s efforts to build a dynamic squad capable of competing for titles.
