Inter Miami continues its aggressive recruitment drive, with San Lorenzo’s Ivan Leguizamon emerging as their latest transfer target, as reported by Intermiami News.

The Herons’ new manager, Javier Mascherano, seeks to bolster the attacking lineup following key departures from last season. Diego Gomez joined Brighton, while Leo Campana moved to New England Revolution.

Fresh off signing Fafa Picault from Vancouver Whitecaps, Miami aims to provide additional support for star duo Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. The pair dominated Miami’s scoring charts last season with 20 goals each.

The 22-year-old Leguizamon has caught Mascherano’s attention despite modest statistics. The Paraguayan international has netted six goals and provided three assists in nearly 100 appearances for San Lorenzo.

However, Miami faces competition from Paraguayan club Olimpia for the versatile attacker. The Asuncion-born player can operate as an attacking midfielder or on either wing.

With the season opener against New York City FC approaching, Mascherano looks to strengthen his squad. Miami has already secured Bailey Sparks and Michael Appiah through the MLS SuperDraft.

Despite claiming the Supporters Shield, Inter Miami’s previous season ended disappointingly with a playoff loss to Atlanta United. The club hopes Leguizamon could help prevent similar setbacks in the upcoming campaign.
