Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has launched a fierce attack on Arsenal’s conservative approach following their 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

The Sky Sports pundit expressed deep concerns about Arsenal’s game management after they surrendered two leads at home against their title rivals.

Despite taking the lead twice through Bukayo Saka and Mikel Merino, Arsenal failed to secure maximum points. Liverpool responded with equalizers from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

“I’m starting to worry about this Arsenal mentality,” Keane stated during his post-match analysis on Sky Sports. “They seem content to sit back after taking the lead.”

The Manchester United legend highlighted a recurring pattern in Arsenal’s performances this season. He criticized their tendency to retreat rather than push for more goals.

The disappointing result has seen Arsenal slip to third place, now trailing league leaders Manchester City by five points. Liverpool also dropped from the top spot.

Keane’s analysis particularly focused on Arsenal’s second-half display. He questioned their lack of attacking intent despite having home advantage.

“When they’re 2-1 up, you expect them to push forward and try to win the game,” Keane added. “Instead, they settle for holding onto narrow leads.”

Honestly, I can’t help but agree with Keane’s take on Arsenal’s title ambitions under Arteta. His cautious approach, especially in those high-stakes matches, is starting to feel like it could cost us in the long run.

It’s not just once or twice now; this nagging trend of the team struggling to lock down games even when we’re in a winning position.

With the Premier League really heating up, Arteta has to sort out these tactical issues. This defensive mindset might seem safe, but it’s actually risky if we’re eyeing the title.

If we keep up this pattern, those small mistakes could end up derailing the entire season.
