FC Dallas has signed defender Enzo Newman to a two-year rookie contract, with options that could keep him at the club through 2029.
Selected 11th overall in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, Newman made his mark at Oregon State University, where he started all 18 matches last season.
He was a reliable player and became the sixth in the school’s history to be named an Academic All-American.
Now, FC Dallas fans may wonder what Newman’s future holds. Perhaps he’ll start his journey with North Texas SC, getting valuable minutes in a competitive setting.
After all, it’s not uncommon for rookies to spend time there before entering the first team.
While at Oregon State, Newman mainly played on the right side of the defense.
However, journalist Drew Epperley of Bigdsoccer suggests that head coach Eric Quill could look to use him on the left, providing depth behind Marco Farfan.
Maybe that flexibility will give Newman the edge he needs to break into the starting lineup sooner rather than later.

A promising future for Enzo Newman
It’s worth noting that Newman isn’t the only Oregon State product making waves at FC Dallas.
His signing follows the success of fellow Beavers Logan Farrington and Tsiki Ntsabeleng, who have both earned extended contracts with the club.
This could signal a trend – maybe FC Dallas has found a solid talent pipeline through Oregon State.
In any case, Newman has already impressed in preseason camp, which is always a good sign. If he can continue that form, fans could see more of him in MLS sooner than expected.
