Arsenal may be preparing to make a familiar addition to their squad, with recent reports linking them to Barcelona forward Ferran Torres.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, relayed by Sport Witness, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal is reportedly keen on signing Barcelona forward Ferran Torres this January.

The Gunners are said to be exploring the possibility of securing the Spanish international for a “reasonable price” as they seek to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.

Torres, a former Manchester City player, is no stranger to the Premier League, which adds to his appeal for Arsenal.

Since joining Barcelona, he has struggled to secure consistent minutes, often competing with the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and rising star Lamine Yamal.

So far this season, Torres has played eight La Liga matches, recording one goal and two assists. A hamstring injury, however, has kept him off the pitch for much of October.

The Gunners see Torres’ adaptability and prior Premier League experience as valuable assets.

While Kai Havertz has filled in effectively as a striker for Arsenal this season, scoring six times in 13 appearances, Torres could bring a new dynamic to Arteta’s forward line and bolster their attack for the latter half of the campaign.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are reportedly open to considering offers but may not part with Torres unless the offer is compelling.

Arsenal isn’t the only club monitoring the situation, either—Aston Villa, led by former Arsenal boss Unai Emery, are also showing interest in the 23-year-old forward.

If Arsenal can secure Torres, it could be a strategic move to enhance their Premier League push, especially given Torres’ proven skill set and versatility.
