Austin FC is on the verge of securing C.F. Monterrey striker Brandon Vázquez in what could be a major transfer move for the Texas club.
The San Diego native, who currently plays for Liga MX side Rayados, is in advanced negotiations to join the Major League Soccer outfit. César Luis Merlo of AM confirms talks have progressed significantly between both clubs.
Vázquez, 26, has netted four goals and provided one assist across 20 appearances during the 2024/25 season. The centre forward, valued at €6 million, could soon finalize his return to American soccer.
The potential signing aligns with Austin FC’s aggressive off-season strategy. The club recently strengthened its roster through the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, selecting Riley Thomas and Patrick Gryczewski. They also added experienced midfielder Ilie Sánchez through free agency.

Both clubs are now working to finalize the transfer details. An official announcement could arrive in the coming days as negotiations reach their final stages.
