Arsenal Football Club is considering expanding the Emirates Stadium, according to recent statements from co-chairman Josh Kroenke.
In an interview with ESPN, Kroenke revealed that internal discussions about renovating and expanding the stadium have begun.
“It would be premature to talk about any plans in depth, but the internal conversations are starting to occur,” he said.
The Emirates Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,704, has not seen a major increase in capacity since its inauguration in 2006.
The club has made efforts to enhance the stadium’s atmosphere, including adding new artwork to the exterior.
However, the demand for tickets has surged, especially with Arsenal’s recent success under manager Mikel Arteta.
Kroenke emphasized that any expansion would aim to improve the fan experience and maintain the club’s competitive edge.
“Our goal was always to compete for the Premier League title. If you are competing for the title year-in, year-out, you are competing for everything else,” he added.
While specific details are yet to be disclosed, the potential expansion is expected to excite Arsenal fans, who have shown strong support for the team in recent years.
The club’s commitment to making the Emirates a true home for its supporters remains a top priority
