Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo as a potential transfer target following their recent injury concerns.
Scout Mick Brown has revealed exclusive information about Arsenal’s interest in the Cameroonian forward.
The Gunners’ squad depth has been tested severely this season, with key players Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus facing fitness struggles.
Mbeumo has caught Arsenal’s attention with his impressive start to the season, netting eight goals in nine Premier League matches.
The Cameroonian’s versatility makes him an attractive prospect. He can easily operate across multiple attacking positions.
“Arsenal have been looking at him,” Brown told Football Insider, drawing parallels with their successful acquisition of Leandro Trossard.
“I can see that move being a possibility.
“They’ve done deals like that in the past when they signed Trossard for example, who have come in and benefitted their squad.
“He’s done fantastically well for Brentford not just this season but for a long period now.
“With the injury issues Saka has faced, it’s shown they need depth in that area.
“Mbeumo could provide that, but they also like the fact that he can play across the front three and provide cover behind the striker too.

The North London club’s injury woes have highlighted their need for attacking reinforcements, with Martin Odegaard’s extended absence particularly concerning.
Recent injuries to Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Magalhaes further expose Arsenal’s squad limitations this season.
What next
However, securing Mbeumo’s signature might prove challenging during the January transfer window, as Brentford are reluctant to sell, as we saw with the Ivan Toney deal.
The forward’s ability to play as a winger, striker, or attacking midfielder aligns perfectly with Arsenal’s tactical requirements.
Brown suggests a summer move is more likely, giving Arsenal time to structure a deal similar to their successful Trossard transfer.
The Gunners’ recruitment team views Mbeumo as an ideal solution for providing cover for Saka and strengthening their attacking options.
